Synopsis
Creed is a 2015 American sports drama film directed by Ryan Coogler and written by Coogler, Aaron Covington, and Sylvester Stallone. It is the seventh installment in the Rocky film series and the spin-off to the Rocky Balboa film. The film stars Michael B. Jordan as Adonis "Donnie" Creed, the illegitimate son of Apollo Creed, and follows his journey as he trains to become a boxer under the tutelage of Rocky Balboa (Stallone).
Orphaned as a child, Adonis is taken in by Mary Anne Creed, the widow of his father. As an adult, he discovers his passion for boxing and decides to pursue a career in the sport, despite the objections of his adoptive mother. He travels to Philadelphia and seeks out Rocky, who has become a recluse since the death of his wife, Adrian. Rocky agrees to train Adonis, and the two form a close bond.
As Adonis's boxing career takes off, he must navigate the challenges of his personal life. He struggles to balance his training with his relationship with his girlfriend, Bianca Taylor (Tessa Thompson), and he grapples with the legacy of his father. With Rocky's guidance and support, Adonis faces his demons and fights his way to the top. In a climactic showdown, he confronts "Pretty" Ricky Conlan (Tony Bellew), the reigning light heavyweight champion.
