Blackhawks Take Home Stanley Cup Victory

The Chicago Blackhawks have won the Stanley Cup for the third time in six seasons, defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-0 in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday night. Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews scored both goals and goaltender Corey Crawford made 23 saves as the Blackhawks completed a six-game series win. It was the second Stanley Cup victory for the Blackhawks in three years, and the sixth championship in the team’s 88-year history. Toews was named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner as the most valuable player of the playoffs. The Blackhawks now join the Montreal Canadiens and the Detroit Red Wings as the only teams to have won three Stanley Cups in the past six seasons.
